American Craft Show – Baltimore

One of the things that I set as a goal for myself recently was to rekindle my ‘serious’ art – of course if you know me, you know I’m anything but serious!  But, I have gotten a bit sidetracked in the past few years.  Most of the things I create have been for projects, articles, online classes, product samples… all fun, of course, but not the kind of work that really pushes me as an artist to experiment and stretch my skills.

So, I’m making more studio time and making more pieces that I want to make.  And of course exploring new venues to showcase them.

I’m very excited to be part of the prestigious American Craft show in Baltimore in Feb.  It’s one of the premier juried fine craft shows in the country, and just the kind of place I’d like my ‘serious’ art to be.

I’m trying to cram in as much studio time as I can before next month.  I’ve got a few things done that I’m pleased with so far, and hey! weeks before the show – that’ll be plenty of time, right?

If you’ll able to come enjoy this show, please do!  It’s a tremendous event with so many beautiful things.  And say hi to me! I’m in booth#827.

I am an artist because I must be. My mind wanders and my fingers follow. Just feed me a little more chocolate and I'll be fine.

It never ceases to amaze me what you can create with polymer clay. The objects in your picture are beautiful. Keep to the path you have chosen. There will be roadblocks but your art will expand because of them.

  2. Roberta, thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it. So often creating is a solo activity, so when i stick my head up and show people what I’ve made, it’s very very wonderful to hear that others like them too.
And yes, I’ll stay on this path, and keep learning and growing the best I can!

Christi, You do amazing work and you are so busy it is no surprise to me that you have little time for serious art as you call it, exploring the media can be so rewarding and you have some wonderful artifacts on the shelves.
I am doing the two day Ilfracombe Art Trail again this year, Lara and I held an open house last year but we are going down to The Space this year. The Art Trail is all about the local artists in the Devon area, so there will bea ll kinds of art painting, felt works, etc, etc, I am taking my jewellery and vintage silk scarves and some prints of my paintings. It will be fun!

    • Thank you Jackie! It is hard to fit in everything that I want to do – but that’s such much better than not having enough interesting things going on, right? ;-D
Well spotted – I love artifacts and have been really lucky in my travels to find many amazing things.
The Art Trail/The Space sounds wonderful – when is it? I’m in the area in July…
